Wound Care
Nathan Sorenson is a family nurse practitioner working at the Utah Valley Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. While serving in the Army, Nate interacted with doctors, nurses, dentists and veterinarian’s providing care in remote Afghanistan villages. This experience, and having observed his fathers career as an emergency physician grew his interest in the medical field. While weighing the various options, he earned a degree in exercise science at BYU, and then decided to pursue a career in nursing. After earning a nursing degree at Dixie State University, Nate worked a cardiac telemetry nurse at St. Mark’s Hospital and later was hired to work at the emergency department at Utah Valley Hospital. While working in the emergency room at Utah Valley, he pursued an advanced degree as a family nurse practitioner at the University of Southern Indiana. After gaining extensive experience as a registered nurse, Nate began practicing as a family nurse practitioner at a family practice clinic where he received further training, mentorship and experience. After a few years in the family practice setting, Nate transitioned from family practice to a combination of urgent care and wound care, later transitioning into a role as a full-time wound care and hyperbaric nurse practitioner in March 2019.
